Speeches by the experts from the Tourism and Anti-Corruption Authorities in the OIC Members States (3 minutes each) Background and primary objective Interested Anti-Corruption and Tourism Authorities' experts are expected to present challenges and success stories in managing corruption risks in the tourism sector.

- The Maldives experience in combatting corruption in tourism; presentation by ACC, Prosecutor General’s Office, Tourism Ministry, Attorney General’s Office. - The perspective of civil society and other international actors: addressing corruption and ensuring integrity in industry sectors such as the tourism industry and the need to put in place robust institutional frameworks and clear mechanisms to enforce ethical practice [tbc] Background and primary objective This session aims to highlight the integrity and corruption risks within the tourism industry. By bringing these issues to light, the audience will gain an understanding of latest practices to mitigate these risks and promote ethical practices

Panel Discussion 2

- A debate, moderated by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), will bring together representatives from GlobE, Interpol, the World Bank, and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). This session aims to shed light on the challenges of international cooperation in combating corruption within the tourism sector, taking into account its inherently global and cross-border nature. Background and primary objective Experts from international organizations will present different available tools, mechanisms and means to facilitate cooperation to counter transactional corruption in the tourism sector.

Key Insights - Measuring corruption

- The UNDP will present the Global Initiative for Measuring Corruption. This initiative aims to develop evidence-based indicators to evaluate countries' progress and efforts in tackling corruption. Additionally, it seeks to identify policy recommendations and reforms to enhance anti-corruption strategies and promote transparency and accountability worldwide. Background and primary objective This session will provide the audience with a comprehensive understanding of the project, including its core objectives, ambitions, and expected deliverables. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the project's goals and the tangible outcomes it aims to achieve.

- Endorsement of the High-Level Principles on Strengthening Integrity and Combating Corruption in the Tourism Sector - Recommendations of the Forum Background and primary objective This session will aim to endorse the Principles and propose key recommendations for future efforts in this area. It will also serve as a platform to design actionable steps for combating corruption in the tourism sector moving forward
