Monique OUEDRAOGO/ILBOUDO

Director-General of Tourism, Burkina Faso

Ms. Monique OUEDRAOGO/ILBOUDO has been serving as the Director-General of Tourism of Burkina Faso since 2022.

She holds a Master's degree in Heritage and Tourism from Senghor University in Alexandria, a Master's degree in History and Archaeology, and a Diploma in Tourist Services Administration from ENAM. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in History at Joseph Ki-Zerbo University.

With over 16 years of experience in the public tourism sector, Ms. OUEDRAOGO/ILBOUDO has played a key role in implementing national tourism policies, regulating the industry, and leading efforts in anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing in collaboration with the National Financial Intelligence Unit (CENTIF). Prior to her current role, she served as Director-General of Tourism Development and Planning (2014–2022) and held other senior roles including Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Capitalization.
